The Grove City Food Pantry and Emergency Services offers temporary food assistance and emergency financial assistance to area residents who qualify.  The organization is comprised of all volunteers and focuses on meeting the needs of the hungry and those facing a financial emergency.  The organization is supported by the Southwest Christian Ministerial Association, local churches, and the Grove City, Harrisburg and Orient communities.

Kroger donates $ to our organization.

In 2010, the Food Pantry:

• Served 8,433 people from 2,463 households
• 9,523 bags of food , enough for 75,897 meals

   This is a decrease of 3.9% from 2009

In Calendar Year 2010, the Food Pantry:

• 0f the people served – 38% are age 1yr—17yrs

     50% are ages 18—59 yrs and 12% are 60 and over.

• Averaging 205 households served each month

FOOD PANTRY HOURS:

Monday through Friday
2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

 

Last two Saturdays of the month
10:00 am - Noon

The Emergency Services for 2010:

Provided emergency financial assistance to 108 families

Emergencies involved rent, house payments, utility bills,

temporary lodging, etc.

Our Board of Directors and Financial Reports are available on-line.

White Christmas Food Drive
Community volunteers collect food items, toys and monetary donations from participating area schools and businesses. These items are sorted and re-boxed for 225 needy families in the Southwest area of Franklin County, Ohio.  We have 3 opportunities for you to help!

Volunteers:

- will begin collecting food items from area schools on Monday, Dec. 19 at 9:15am and continue on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 9:15am.

- will be sorting the food items Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 6pm and re-boxing for individual families on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 6pm.

- are also needed on Thursday, Dec. 22 between the hours of 12noon and 4:30pm.
